Loweswater Farmers’ Discussion Group

This Group is one of the oldest of its type in Cumbria and, though originally drawing its members from the farming community, now welcomes anyone locally who wishes to come along and join in with the group. Meetings usually revolve around a guest speaker but the subject matter of their talks range from purely farming matters to the nuclear industry, hangliding, policing and even the Osprey Project. The group meets fortnightly at 8pm on Monday evenings during the winter at the Kirkstile Inn and, once a year in the summer, they organise an outing which includes a visit to a farm or farm related business.
