Education and learning

There are two schools within the Melbreak Communities area – Lorton Primary School in High Lorton and Eaglesfield Paddle C.E. V.A. Primary School, which is (just) within the Blindbothel Parish. The nearest secondary school is Cockermouth Comprehensive School.
For pre-school children, there is a playgroup in Lorton on Tuesdays – see here for more info.
