Please find attached location plans showing the extents of 2 number temporary road closures which have been put in place to enable BT Openreach to carry out utility works.

These works are expected to commence (Phase 1) 20th February 2020 with an approx. duration of 2 weeks and (Phase 2) 9th March 2020 with an approx. duration of 1 week.

Please see below details of the extents of the closure and diversion route;

Location: Phase 1 – From its junction with the U2199 extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1.9km. and Phase 2 – From its junction with the U2209 extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 1.4km.

Alternative Route: A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the U2208, B5289 and U2199.

B. Please find attached details in relation to an emergency road closure which has been put in place because of the likelihood of danger as a result of a landslide causing undermining to the carriageway.

This notice came into operation yesterday (10 February 2020) and will remain in place until it is safe for full access.

Please see below details of the extents of the closure and diversion route;

Location: C2058 Newlands Pass, Buttermere, approx. 800m north east of its junction with the B5289 for an approx. distance of 200m n a north easterly direction.

 Alternative Route: A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be available via the unrestricted sections of the C2058, C2057 (Portinscale), A66, A5271 (Keswick) and the B5289 (Buttermere).
