Over the last 12 months we have made an average saving of 3.85p/l compared to the local average price, saving £3,100 for the 30 members.
The annual donations have raised £560 for Melbreak Communities to distribute to local good causes.
In addition LOG members can also receive a 10% discount on oil boiler/Aga/Rayburn servicing through group bookings made with a local OFTEC registered heating engineer.
The voluntary annual membership fee paid to Melbreak Communities has helped local charities e.g. Great North Air Ambulance, Cockermouth Mountain Rescue and First responders and West Cumbria Hospice at Home; and good causes such as the Yew Tree Hall Garden, Fork to Fork plant growing initiative at Lorton School, Lorton Notice boards, and the Age UK funded lunch.
Environmentally we have also significantly reduced the number of road tankers that trundle up and down the valley, saving 1000’s of tanker miles and emissions.
