Over the last 12 months we have approximately 69,500 litres, with the average saving of 3.5p/l. This equates to a total saving of around £2,450 for the 30 members who in total donated over £500 of this to Melbreak Communities; the £20 annual donation to Melbreak Communities is covered by the savings from their first 500 litres orderedPicture clipping
In addition LOG members can also receive a 10% discount on oil boiler/Aga/Rayburn servicing through group bookings made with a local OFTEC registered heating engineer.
The voluntary annual membership fee paid to Melbreak Communities has helped local charities e.g. Great North Air Ambulance, Cockermouth Mountain Rescue and good causes such as a new table tennis table for the YTH table tennis club, a table football table for the Youth Café and a grant for the Loweswater IT Group.
Environmentally we have also significantly reduced the number of road tankers that trundle up and down the valley, saving 1000’s of tanker miles and emissions.
